2024
A Year
of Growth
at Collaborative Women
2024 marked a significant period of growth for Collaborative Women UK. We expanded our housing portfolio with the successful purchase of another property, providing safe accommodation and our vital Moving Forward Programme to an additional 12 residents on their journey to breaking cycles of abuse.
We were also delighted to welcome Francesca Ohai as our new Housing & Community Support Worker, further strengthening our team.
Our community engagement saw an exciting relaunch under the banner of The Rhubarb Club, Advocating for Women, encompassing:
-
A revitalised Community Group and Membership Club
-
The launch of our Young Rhubarb Club
-
A powerful Women’s Collective for campaigning projects
To commemorate our 10th anniversary, we hosted a memorable Gala Dinner at Manchester United, celebrating with 120 guests and raising a fantastic £1,091.00 to support the Young Rhubarb Club. We were thrilled to donate £330 (30%) of this total to Centre Point Manchester.

Housing Progress
We continue to support the prevention of homelessness by providing good quality affordable, safe homes putting residents safety and needs at the heart of our service. It was also a period of forging new & strengthening partnerships with Manchester, Salford and Trafford Council's homeless and housing options teams. Also other Homeless prevention providers such as Women’s Aid, Booth centre and Centre Point.
Out of the 25 women accommodated 80% have completed or are on target to complete their Moving Forward Programme.

The moving forward programme
Our Moving Forward Programme serves as a conduit for residents to create their own pathways of change. As a result, investment into our housing services has served to achieve better outcomes for residents. 100% of residents accomplished “The Collaborative Women Moving Forward Certificate in Domestic Abuse Awareness” providing an opportunity to grow in confidence, self esteem and a greater understanding of self worth and recognising the signs of abusive unhealthy relationships.
